From January to April, the total output of lithium batteries in China increased by 68% year-on-year.

The reporter recently learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that from January to April 2025, my country's lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as "lithium battery") industry continued its growth trend. According to the information of enterprises in the lithium battery industry standard announcement and the calculation of the industry association, the total output of lithium batteries in the country exceeded 473GWh from January to April, a year-on-year increase of 68%.

According to the information of enterprises in the lithium battery industry standard announcement and the calculation of the industry association, the total output of lithium batteries in the country exceeded 473GWh from January to April, a year-on-year increase of 68%.
In the battery link, the output of energy storage lithium batteries exceeded 110GWh from January to April, and the installed capacity of power lithium batteries for new energy vehicles was about 184GWh. From January to April, the total export volume of lithium batteries in the country reached 155.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25%.
In the first-order material link, the output of positive electrode materials, negative electrode materials, diaphragms, and electrolytes from January to April was approximately 1.15 million tons, 760,000 tons, 8 billion square meters, and 470,000 tons, respectively, with a year-on-year increase of more than 40%.
In the second-order material link, the output of battery-grade lithium carbonate from January to April was 270,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 60%, and the output of battery-grade lithium hydroxide was 90,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14%. From January to April, the average prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide (micro powder grade) were 74,000 yuan/ton and 76,000 yuan/ton respectively.
